It depends on the work you do. Signing, lighting and guarding (Unit 2) is needed by almost everyone on the highway; excavation and reinstatement units depend on your trade. Safe and Trained will advise before booking.
Yes. Each unit is certificated on its own and can be added to your SWQR record later.
Excavation and reinstatement units need land, materials and equipment for the practical assessment. The Loughborough site has these; your premises can be used if they meet the requirements.
Units recorded on the SWQR card are valid for five years, after which a refresher requalifies them.
