The SGSA Green Guide expects every steward to hold or be working towards the Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety within 12 months. We run induction and Level 2 cohorts around your fixture list.
The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 is expected to commence in spring 2027. Standard-tier premises (200 to 799) need procedures and staff who know them; enhanced-tier (800+) need documented measures. Crowd safety and risk analysis training gives your team the vocabulary and the drills.
Level 4 Spectator Safety Management Diploma for the people who sign off match-day operations, plus critical incident debriefing for after the event.

The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 received Royal Assent on 3 April 2025 and statutory guidance was published between April and September 2026. Standard-tier premises (200 to 799 capacity) must have procedures for evacuation, invacuation, lockdown and communication and staff who understand them. Enhanced-tier premises (800 and above) and qualifying events need documented procedures and measures and must notify the SIA as regulator. Nothing in the Act mandates a qualification, but "reasonably practicable" procedures assume a workforce that has rehearsed them. A leading UK security company looking after one of London's premier entertainment parks asked for first-response training specific to crowd situations. We delivered a First Person On Scene programme in classes of six to ten, with one-to-one coaching alongside instruction, covering the pre-hospital environment, patient assessment, airway and respiration management, basic life support, defibrillation, circulation and shock and medical emergencies. Every delegate passed.

Yes. Spectator safety qualifications are assessed at live events, so we plan the theory sessions between fixtures and the assessments on match days.
Stewards in a security role supplied by a contractor need an SIA Door Supervisor licence; in-house stewards do not, but the Green Guide still expects Level 2 Spectator Safety and physical intervention training where they may have to intervene.
